After two years of hard work and many recording sessions, we finally finished Hollydish’s second album. It began in a studio in an old brewery in Brooklyn, NY then travelled to Montreal, Canada (Dish’s hometown) and ended in a world class studio in Lüneburg, Germany where mixing went down . the album was then mastered by Hpeh - one of germany’s top mastering engineers!
‘Real Eyes Realize Real Lies ‘ is born. Because you are what we call a ‘music and lyric appreciator ‘ you are among the first 135 selected people that get a download link giving you access to download the whole album for free ! That’s it! The album is not yet released - we are currently trying to find a label that’s capable of doing a good job of disseminating hollyDish’s heartfelt message to the world. history of the album
The Story:
In 2008 Joh went on a “myspace -recording tour” through Canada & the US with just his laptop and a cheap microphone - first stop was Montreal where he was supposed to record with a guy named THE NARCYCIST ( who’s also featured on this album on “ Hidden Truth” -an artist who has become very famous internationally). HollyDish came into the studio to record a track and it was magic. He went by The Dish’s apartment the very next day and they recorded “True Face” right then and there on Joh’s portable studio (mic and laptop). They bonded and before he knew it they had plans to meet in NY where 20 odd tracks were laid down. Then a couple months later Dish came to Germany, where Joh lives, met the band and did some more recording. All the drum tracks were laid down in “Tokyo Hotel’s” studio and vocals recorded on world-class equipment and microphones. Joh wanted to make sure that this “hip hop” album was timeless and as mu- sical as possible; bringing in elements of Jazz, Funk, Blues, Old School R&B, hip hop and showing all our true colors of course. “Real Eyes” is an international project integrating talent from across the world and bringing people even closer together in this world wide web of communication and creative sharing; a shining example of how anything is possible if you make it happen and now we are sharing our story with you.
