Vision

the mainstream began as a collective and has now been solidified, after much touring and visibility, as a band. Band members include: Federico Malandrino (italy/ guitar), Anton Stoeger (germany/drums), Laurent Vianes (france / bass), Pablo Ryan (ireland, spain, germany / violin) & Joscha Blachnitzky (germany & san francisco / vocals & acoustic guitar).

the mainstream’s first two albums 'X ' (2006 ) and 'THE BEAUTY IN THE MUNDANE' (2009) were produced via internet file sharing using social networking platforms to connect artists worldwide. 21 artists from 4 continents and countries like Chile, USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland & South Africa participated in the album 'the beauty in the mundane' !
The aim here was to breakdown social barriers, to unite artistic minds worldwide and all of these valued connections now exist in the sidestream artists that virtually and physically worked with the the mainstream on their first two projects and continue to create projects independently worldwide!! the sidestream included such artists as Lexxx Luthor (California), Mason Black (South Africa), Keurspi (France) and to present HollyDish (Montreal, Canada), Shane, Manifest One (USA), and sometimes there are opportunities for these artists to join The Mainstream on tour and certainly feature on album tracks.

The artists involved in the mainstream realize that with the power they have to be heard, a certain amount of social responsibility comes hand-in-hand. the mainstream’s music explores love and life but there is a socially conscious effort being made as well in their music. World issues are discussed in the “Theme for Burma” on the ‘Beauty in the Mundane’ album and a song called “Africa” on their new album which is yet to be released. In addition, ‘Silenzio senza paura,’ a remake of the song ‘ un poco de amor ‘ off the ‘Beauty in the Mundane’ album , was chosen as the title song for the ‘ anti violence against women ‘ campaign on the 25th of November 2010 in Italy .

After almost 7 years of hard work, 5 Italian tours (2009-2010), a tour in Chile (2009), China (2010), more than 70 gigs over the past 2 years in Germany & Switzerland and two album releases the mainstream flows strong and steady while the world awaits what’s next. We are all part of the main stream, the stream of life and consciousness that is now.
